Safe Class breakdown

Tiny footsteps (18months-3years), Saturday 9-9.30am

This class we will taught with ONE parent/guardian in the studio with the child. The class will be socially distanced, with very clear markings laid out on the studio floor, so you and your child will be in your designated area together for the entirety of the class. We will ask all parents to wear a mask whilst in the building and throughout the class. Props for the class will be cleaned before and after your use, they will already be laid out for you in your dance space, and we ask you to put them in a box on your way out for us to then clean.

Miss Elena will come down to the main entrance to open the door and sign in you and your child for their class. No-one else will be permitted into the building from GWDA. 

Dinky Dancers (3-4 years, for the child who will be starting school in September 2021),

Saturday 9.30-10am

For this class, Miss Elena and/or Miss Winnie will be coming downstairs to the main entrance to let ONE parent/guardian in with each child. We ask you to wear a mask at all times whilst in the village halls. If you can then walk your child up the stairs to the studio. Once you have dropped them off, you will then have to turn around and walk straight back downstairs following the one way arrows as we cannot allow anyone to wait in the corridors. You are allowed to wait in the lobby area downstairs, on the socially distanced markers. We ask for the students to arrive dressed and ready to go as we cannot take any of their belongings into the studio.

If they need the toilet before the class, there is a one in one out policy to ensure we maintain social distancing and we ask parents to ensure they have been before our class.

During the class Miss Elena and Miss Winnie will be socially distanced from the students- they will not be holding hands to get them into circles or moving anyone into their places. There are clear spots on the studio floor for each child to stand on, but we are very realistic that this age group will NOT be socially distanced for the entire class, so instead, this class will be taught in a Dinky dancer bubble.

At the end of the class, we will ask you to come and collect your child, being conscious to remain socially distanced up the stairs, keeping your masks on, and to then leave promptly once you have collected them. Once you arrive at the studio door, we will pass your child to you.

We appreciate the logistics of all of this might be quite challenging, but we appreciate your support and understanding for this and essentially in allowing us to safely run our classes for your children.

Pre-Primary (4/5 years, reception and year 1 school children)

Saturday, 10-10.45am and Thursday, 4-4.45pm

For these classes, we will ask ONE parent/ guardian to assist their child upstairs and into the studio following the one way arrow system. We will need you to wear as mask at all times whilst in the building. Once you have dropped them off, you will then have to turn around and walk straight back downstairs following the one way arrows as we cannot allow anyone to wait in the corridors. You are allowed to wait in the lobby area downstairs, on the socially distanced markers. We ask for the students to arrive dressed and ready to go as we cannot take any of their belongings into the studio.

If they need the toilet before the class, there is a one in one out policy to ensure we maintain social distancing.

When you collect them, we ask you to remain socially distanced as you come up the stairs, and your child will then be handed to you at the studio entrance. Again, we ask you to then make a prompt exit back down the stairs to ensure no one is in the corridor.

Primary (Age 6+), Grade 1 (Age 7+) and Grade 2

For these classes the teacher will be coming down to the lobby area to collect the students. NO parents/ guardians will be allowed into the building, the children will be registered in by the teacher. 

At the end of the class, they will be brought back down to be dismissed and we ask you to then make a prompt exit away from the entrance.

Grade 3 and above

For these classes, we ask all STUDENTS to wear a mask when entering and walking around the building (unless any of our grade 3’s are still at Primary school, in which case a mask isn’t required). Once in the studio in their designated box, the mask can be removed for their ballet class. We ask for parents/ guardians NOT to enter the building unless absolutely necessary, and if they do, only to stay in the lobby area downstairs ensuring they are wearing a mask and are socially distanced.

We will require students to follow the one way arrows and bring themselves upstairs to our studios. Once in the studios, the students will make their way to their designated area. They can put their belongings at the side of the studio next to their area, but we ask them to bring very minimal items and please note, we cannot keep hold of any lost property!

At the end of the class, we will need the students to put their masks back on to leave the building.

At the end of the class, the teacher will be bringing the Grade 3’s downstairs for dismissal, however, Grade 4 and above we will be allowing the students to walk downstairs themselves to be collected. If a parent / guardian is not outside we ask all students to return back up to the studio and to wait at the side of the studio until a parent/ guardian contacts them to let them know they have arrived.
